Thailand, the first nation in Asia! The Cabinet approved the draft of the Partners Act. Same sex can now get married

A spokesman for the Deputy Prime Minister revealed that the Cabinet (Cabinet) approved the bill (Act) to raise the level of human rights protection.
The push for this partner law has the essence of the draft law. The registered person must be 20 years of age. Any party or both parties must have Thai nationality. By requesting and expressing consent to the registrar As for the rule of ending the life of a partner, it will end by death, voluntarily break up or the court ruling to revoke a partner.


The relationship between property and inheritance of The Civil and Commercial Code shall apply mutatis and mutandis similar to marriage registration but there are many differences; such as government welfare, such as civil servants, with welfare covering husband and wife as well .


Another issue is the tax deduction rights in terms of husband and wife. As for children, they are not in the law. But covered in adoption of two people come together to be able to adopt and have legal support already.


"Draft Law in Thailand is the first country in Asia to have this kind of law. That allows men to dress as women and women dressed as men or called the rainbow law. Not limited to men and boys only".



Mr. Natthaphon revealed that after the cabinet agreed to send the draft, NIA considering the details when approved, it will be announced in the Government Gazette and will be used for 120 days before it becomes effective. As for passing the approval or not, it is uncertain. There may be an amendment which takes time. And do not know how to catch up NIA or not? Because there are 50 laws passed by the cabinet to the NIA
